In cooperation with IEEE ComSoc, AAAI and IAPR. http://www.iceis.org=20 =20 =20 ICEIS 2001 is a large international conference on the area of = "Enterprise Information Systems" focusing mostly on applications, = methodologies and technologies relevant for business organisations. The = conference will be held from 7 to 10 July 2001 in the School of = Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Set=FAbal (Portugal). =20 More than 300 researchers and practitioners are expected, coming from = more than 30 countries from all over the world, to discuss several = topics concerning different aspects of "Enterprise Information = Systems". This theme is raising a huge interest both in business and in = the academia, and ICEIS provides the ideal forum for promoting the = meeting of both researchers and practitioners and experience exchange. =20 About 150 technical communications, previously selected by an = international committee of more than 95 Ph.D. experts in the various = conference areas, will be presented and also made available at the = conference site both in book format and CD-ROM format. The conference thematic areas are mainly related to the application of = Information Technology and Information Systems to:=20 (i) Databases and Information Systems Integration;=20 (ii) Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems;=20 (iii) Information Systems Analysis and Specification; and=20 (iv) Internet Computing and Electronic Commerce. =20 It should be emphasised the high number of invited keynote lectures, = presented by distinguished speakers coming from some of the most = prestigious Universities in the World, such as Stanford and the MIT = (USA). There will be a panel, at the conference opening, where these = distinguished speakers will debate, with the audience, several aspects = related to the social impact of Enterprise Information Systems and = Information Technologies on the XXIst century organisations. =20 Besides technical communications, a series of case-study applications in = the area of Enterprise Information Systems will also be presented, by = Portuguese companies.
