Track description and CFP
The design of production systems has always been a crucial problem in=20
industrial engineering. It becomes more important because of the worldwide=
=20
competition and due to the rapid progress of manufacturing technologies.=20
Nowadays, production systems are characterised by short product life-cycle=
=20
time, high levels of automation, emergence of new manufacturing equipment=20
and technologies, and high investment. These attributes lead to new design=
=20
problems and more frequent design needs, and hence to the demand for new=20
methods and CAD tools.
The aim of this Track is to present new optimisation models and methods for=
=20
the design of production systems. These methods will be built upon advanced=
=20
exact and approximate techniques of scalar and multi-objective optimisation=
=20
and state-of-the-art performance evaluation tools to take into account=20
various design objectives as well as technical and cost constraints.
Submission
Submitted papers (6 pages in IFAC double column format) will be reviewed by=
=20
at least two referees. Both academic and industrial oriented communications=
=20
will be considered. Accepted contributions will be published in INCOM=20
Proceedings by Elsevier. Further submission instructions are available on=20
the symposium website (http://www.emse.fr/incom2006).
Important dates:
November 15, 2005: deadline for paper submission
January 6, 2006: notification of acceptance/reject
March 1, 2006: deadline for final paper.
