Dear Colleagues,

The ETFA2007 Organizing Committeee has extended the submission deadline till April 27th. All Special Sessions have been extended accordingly So, please find enclosed a CFP for a session about interoperability problematic which will be held during ETFA 2007 congress, September 25-28, 2007, Patras, Greece.

This session is supported by the french research work group 'Interoperability and Communicating Enterprise'.

I am honoured to invite you to participate to this session. Of course, please feel free to promote this session. Best regards. V.Chapurlat

*Enterprise Modelling, Enterprise Engineering, Information systems modelling and engineering: new trends and links for interoperability*

Technical outline

All around the world, enterprises have to take up several challenges for the next decade in order to become more attractive for customer by transforming or adapting its organisation, its tools, its functioning modes and to break or to improve its position on markets. This vision of the future requires developing new and fundamental concepts. So, new research axes, academic and industrial works have been promoted since a few years. Particularly interoperability problematic has been tackled in order to facilitate and to improve exchange, interaction and communication between actors and tools in the enterprise whatever may be their role, their abilities or their position in a given process (business, manufacturing, control, etc.) and whatever may be their environment variability.

Most of the works developed in this moment about interoperability in enterprise are inspired by enterprise modeling, enterprise engineering, information systems engineering and integration domains. However, what are the links, the cross worked areas and collaboration, the actual usages and relations between these domains?

The goal of this session is to allow academic researchers, practitioners and industrial partners to present and to exchange about the needs, the experiments and the new trends in research about interoperability improvement.

Topics

This session is dedicated to both practical and theoretical papers from all areas related to interoperability problematic. It may consider the following relevant themes:

* New trends in Enterprise Modeling for the interoperability: modeling languages unification, Process modeling vs. information systems integration, enterprise reference models for interoperability, frameworks for interoperable architectures, interests and techniques of verification, validation and certification for interoperability, CMMI approach,

* Enterprise modeling replaced into the MDE context: MDE approach and interoperability requirements: perspectives, usages, modeling paradigms, verification and validation mechanisms (Simulation, Emulation, Test, usage and new trends of Formal methods (property specification and formal proof, model checking, theorem proving)

* Knowledge interoperability: Ontologies building process, Ontologies sharing, Knowledge modeling approaches and tools

* Business interoperability: reference models, meta models, standards and norms

* Application interoperability: ERP, APS, MES, SCADA Systems and integration

* Collaborative manufacturing: Semantically enriched trusted entities, knowledge based systems reasoning systems, inter and intra enterprise process modeling, automated dynamic workflow platforms, manufacturing enterprise system integration methodologies.

* ICT Interoperability: Architecture centric approach, software development process, architecture description languages (ADLs), UML models, principle of verification and validation applied to ICT systems, interoperability in manufacturing systems, advanced control systems and eManufacturing systems

Author's schedule

Authors should contact the Special Session Organizers, as soon as possible

*Deadline for submission: April 27, 2007*

Notification of papers acceptance: May 25, 2007

Final manuscripts due: July 1, 2007
